Jajah plans to offer adverts during callback tone
Register today informs that Jajah company is trying to agree with telecoms to place adverts during call back tone. Users who sign up to the new advertising service will get credit for listening to adverts while they wait for their call to be answered, revenue will be split between subscriber and operator 50:50.
Interesting idea but imagine how annoying is that going to be! It is bad enough that you have to listen to a song that other party have setup as a caller tune, now you will be told about new products and services!
But as Register mentions, most telecoms already offer paid service for caller tunes, which they don’t share revenue with anyone, so they will probably stick with that.
