Upgrade With T-Mobile After 9 Months

There is something going on with T-Mobile upgrades on over the web. I have a contract with them and it was not supposed to be up for renewal till August but when I logged in to my account via t-mobile.co.uk it tells me I can upgrade! I thought that was very nice of them, giving people early upgrades, for past 3 years I was only allowed to upgrade on 11th month of my contract.

I thought it might be a mistake in the system so I called Customer Services and yes they said I can do early upgrade after I told them I can see eligibility on their website.

If you are with T-Mobile and use their MyT-Mobile portal, login and check, you might be surprised too! This might be a technical glitch, so while it is not fixed, you can take advantage and do an early upgrade!

  1. I too had been told that I could upgrade early as a valued customer, only to find that they would not allow you to carry over any benefits that you have recieved over your years of custom.

Basically they want you to start from scratch again.

I know other providers don’t penalise you for being a valued customer, I wonder why T Mobile have chosen to do this??????

  2. Similar experience with T-Mobile, had a 25% discount plus a 10% loyalty discount with then, when I came to upgrade (all within the terms of the contract) was told that I would lose all my discounts! Only way I could keep then would be to not upgrade my phone! As mobile phones don’t have an inifinite life span this wasn’t an option for me.

    Decided to move elsewhere!

  3. Hi Bob,

I don’t think you should be loosing your discounts whenever you upgrade, but who knows, maybe t-mobile changed their policy!

Anyway, they are not giving good offers on upgrades nowadays and also no new exciting handsets, t-mobile seems to be always last to offer new handsets! I am thinking to move to other operator as well
