O2 Launches Top-up Surprises
Don’t be surprised next time you top up your O2 pay as you go phone. O2 UK today announced the launch of a proposition that will reward its 11.5 m Pay & Go customers every time they top-up.
From 24th November, customers will be eligible for an O2 Surprise every time they top-up their Pay & Go phones. Surprises will range from free texts, picture messages, mobile internet browsing and minutes to prizes such as shopping vouchers, cinema tickets, race day or spa experiences, or even a much coveted iPhone. Every customer who participates will also get entered into a grand prize draw where they have the chance to win a star prize every month. For November this will be a Mini Cooper S.
Michael Williamson, head of Pay & Go at Telefónica O2 UK, said “In the current climate, customer loyalty is more important than ever and we have a commitment to reward and value our existing customers.
Not only are we the only network that rewards customers by giving them 10% of all their top-ups back, but with O2 Surprises we are now also giving them a guaranteed gift, plus the chance to win something big and exciting.”
O2’s Pay & Go customers will be sent a code every time they top-up, directing them to the O2 website to find out what surprise they will receive. www.o2.co.uk/surprises
O2 customers topping up by £10 are eligible for ‘Silver’ gifts, whereas those topping up £15 or more are eligible for ‘Gold’ gifts and prizes, and will receive ten times the number of entries into the grand prize draw.
The initial four-month trial will run alongside O2’s current ‘Rewards’ and ‘Treats’ programs.

4. Enter your mobile phone number and code that you received when you topped up.

Hi all…
I’m not sure why you are having problems.
1. Go to http://www.o2.co.uk/surprises (make sure you put the ‘r’ and NOT from your phone)
2. select enter when the thing loads up!
3. select ‘play now’ (honestly its not hard – you can see it in the middle of the screen in a red box)
4. enter your mobile number in the box and the unique code which was sent to you
5. select the terms and conditions box
6. select login
7. go and hook a duck
8. gold customers will get to try twice and select 1 of the 2!
9. the ducks bottom will display your surprise
10. on the right hand side you need to click on the collect button
11. you will see a yellow box asking you to enter your details
12. select enter draw
13. If you’re still struggling i suggest you call or email O2
Not hard is it!

I am like a lot of other people and couldn’t even get the website to come up. Did have a look on the 02 website though and found a bit that said try ringing 2211 from my phone which I did and did get a treat for the next 3 months so don’t know if this is the same. hmm..I am the same as 99% of the people here, when I go to the website all I see is pretty much a blue screen with the how to play etc and nothing else, I’m using the firefox browser..I used internet explorer and the main screen comes up with music playing…so that is everyone’s problem.

Topped up yesterday, didn’t know anything about this. On the automated phone call it said if you opted in to the marketing again AFTER you topped up you would still receive a code for that top up, so I topped up and did that. Still not received a code.
Quite annoyed if what they ACTUALLY meant was, you won’t get a code THIS time but next time, as it wasn’t all that clear. If so, not that impressed with O2.

A load of S**T! After playing the hook a duck game I got an error message saying ‘an error has prevented you from collecting your prize’. I closed the browser and tried to log in again but it didn’t let me use the same code giving another error message.
Thanks O2! It’s been a while since i’ve had a surprise where i felt less happy after recieveing it then i did just a few moments before.

I just top-uped with £15 and got a gold game. Managed to get to the suprises site through the O2 website and because it was a gold game got two choices but they were both a week free browsing! Not a huge variety there then but still not going to complain, 50mb browsing sure beats my usual 1mb a month! Just waiting for the text to come through saying it’s in place.
Maybe now I can actually turn my wap back on to pictures rather than just text…

Why dont you lot read the instructions you recieve?
It says go to o2.co.uk/surprises on your PC so why are you lot putting details of your codes here?
when you enter the site there is a f*&(*ng box that says ‘play now’ in the centre of the f*&(*ng screen! click on it and enter the details!
If you dont know how to use the f*&(*ng technology then in my opinion you dont deserve to use it. Be it a mobile a PC. My suggestion is to pack everything in a box and sell it!
Some people are just so ungrateful!
P.s. If you have a problem using it then i suggest you contact O2 who will be glad to help!
P.p.s. I bet the people slagging it off are employees of other networks who are imcapable of the creativity shown by O2 here!

my daughter bought £10 top up with sim card having never used a mobile before she got her surprise by entering code and mobile number, and she got a text back from third party saying enter this pin to play game which she did, not knowing it was not from 02 and it cost her 6 quid so she did get a surprise.Be careful putting mobile numbers on internet.

Well what a surprise, none at all, i did exactely what stated on my text message and like everyone else i could’nt get any further with it. Is this just a ploy to get your customers to top £15.00 or more to stand a chance of winning a prize then find out there is no prizes. If that’s the case i think i will be swoping network along with the rest of my family and god knows how many of your customers will follow suite. I suggest you get this put right, pronto.

I too have had no success with this – the site code txtd to me by o2 was not complete and I still am having no success. The fact is this has got to be a PR disaster for a company I’ve been v happy with until now, so apologise, simplify it or scrap it before you piss all yr loyal punters off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried this and got straight into the o2 website using Firefox. Except that the code I was given includes the letter V which the text box will not recognise. Even when I type the complete code into Notepad, then cut and paste it into the o2 site the V simply disappears.
Also: I, L, O, U, Z, 0, 1, 2.
Same thing happens in Internet Explorer 7.
Most disappointing.

admin is right follow the steps.i did it first time.its very easy.once you enter -then put your mobile phone in.then the code that o2 have tex you.click on terms ect.then you get the game up.once you see the ducks put your mouse on the duck you like and left click on the duck.then look to the right side of your screen and click there.job done.its no con .

I’ve been receiving the reward codes each time that I top up and have visited 02’s website numerous times to play both the silver and gold games.
All goes well to begin with. I am able to enter my mobile number and reward code as required and I even get to hook a duck (or 2 when playing the gold game).
Problem is when I go to collect my prize I am met with the message that says: ‘There was an error preventing you from collecting your prize’. SO HELPFUL!!!!
I have now spent almost 2 months making phone calls to 02’s customer services dept at 25p per call (from my mobile) and have been told various diffrent thins including:
1. To try and claim my prize in 24 hours
2. They are experiencing technical problems which will be rectified shortly.
3. The problem is my computer and to try and claim from somebody elses! (Not true as had the same result!)
Also whenever I call 02 they promise that an advisor will phone me back within 24 hours and each time I wait 3 days before phoning them again!
Oh , by the way – I wouldn’t bother emailing your complaint either as they don’t acknowledge let alone respond to that either!
I’ve sent all these details to BBC’s Watchdog website – perhaps they’ll have more luck investigating this!
The more of you that report this to them the better chance we all have of getting our so called prizes!

LOL….i agree a HUGE pot if you win any thing bigger,in fact so huge i think the tickets have got lost !!!! i need to top up but am trying to hold out a few more days as i will be back in uk in 2 weeks and you lose out as you cant use the prizes which is a shame when you are out of uk ,but there you go ,so all my prizes which i got over the pass 2 months i havent been able to use and have lost them ,i think its a shame as well that they only last for 48 hours ,i mean if you have won them even a week grace is better than 48 hours …..any comments any one, what do you think …

You are all idiots, why are you getting so worked up about not being able to collect something thats free? If there wasn’t such a thing as the ’surprises’ you wouldn’t be bothered. If you read the instructions that PLENTY people have left on here it will work. If it still doesn’t work it’s because you are doing something wrong. Get over it.

I topped up recently and got the code 7QHFHT. I went through the correct procedure and won 35 free text messages. I sent 8 and then was charged for the next one that I sent. Surely that is wrong?

YES….i agree it does all seem a waist of time,even more so now as i am in turkey so i dont get any thing when i top up ,i dont know where all these good prizes are as i have never seen any of them and believe me i have lifted every duck that you are allowed to move …..as you cant pick your own as they dont all move,only some do ……so yes it does seem a bit of a fraud ,so come on o2 give us some thing thats worth having ……

Topped up £15 today to get gold surprise, got a surprise alright 2 of my 3 choices were for free texts, My tariff is unlimited texts so prizes were absolutely useless . Incase your wondering third choice was free blockbuster for a month, you have to give them your bank details, no thanks.

Haha i’m going to say the same thing as robert because i get unlimited texts every month and 2 of my surprises were texts and the other was 50 o2 mins i think it was which was useless considering i have the o2 numbers bolt on so ye to describe it in one word it would be RUBBISH & a waste of time!!
