Carphone Warehouse To Launch Cheapest Tariff for £8.99 On T-Mobile

Carphone Warehouse is preparing to launch the cheapest monthly offer on the market – an £8.99 a month tariff on T-Mobile.The 18-month deal will offer users 100 minutes and 100 texts. It is not yet known what handsets will be available and when the deal will hit stores, but the handsets are likely to cost around £150.

In launching the offer, Carphone will match 3 by offering the cheapest pay monthly tariff on the market. 3 launched a £9 monthly tariff in the New Year called Mix and Match 100, which offers users 100 minutes or texts, or any mix of the two.

LG KP 500 Cookie Available From Carphone Warehouse

November will bring us a lot of new handset launches: T-Mobile G1, Blackberry Storm, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 to name a few.

Now we have another new affordable touchscreen phone, LG KP 500 launching on Carphone Warehouse. This mid range touchscreen device which I have blogged about here, will be available on £25 per month contracts and on prepay for around £159.95.

Mobile market in UK before Christmas becomes very crowded. If you are looking for a new handset this season, it is worth going to shops this weekend and try all of those new handsets yourself!

First Nokia Comes With Music Handset From Carphone Warehouse

We have reported about Nokia’s Comes With Music service earlier this year. Time has come for first Nokia with this service enabled to hit the stores. The Carphone Warehouse has announced that it will be offering the Nokia Comes With Music service exclusively on Pay As You Go, with a range of Nokia 5310 XpressMusic handsets this autumn.

Owners of Nokia handsets enabled with this service will be able to download unlimited songs from Nokia Music Store catalogue during first year. Songs from a range of great artists – past, present and future – will be offered to subscribers for a one-off cost and to make the service even more attractive, the downloaded tracks can be kept on the users handset or PC forever – for no additional fee.

The Nokia 5310, will be available with the unique Comes With Music service for a one-off cost exclusively from over 805 Carphone Warehouse stores and online. Furthermore, the handset will also be available with eight colour variants, exclusively at The Carphone Warehouse, ensuring that all customers are catered for.

Music catalogue consists of artists that record with Warner Music, Universal Music Group International and Sony BMG Entertainment.

iPhone for £169, No Contract

Apparantly you can get an iPhone for £169 from Carphone Warehouse without a contract! Friend of mine told me that last Saturday he walked into the Carphone Warehouse and bought one without a contract. All you need to do is to say that you are existing O2 customer, register your details for warranty and that’s it! Sales person didn’t even ask for O2 number or any other proof of O2 contract.

You will be asked to activate your phone through iTunes, but if you are not intended to use it on O2 network, then you don’t need to do that. Just unlock your phone and use it on the network that you are on. There are plenty of resourses on the net on how to unlock your iPhone, check this site for example: http://iphone.unlock.no/

Following price slash on iPhone last week, I guess Carphone Warehouse doesn’t mind giving them away without contract, they need to get rid of them as many as possible before new version comes out this summer.

What Mobile magazine published 2007 awards in 16 categories. All winners are chosen by consumers throughout the year and official ceremony was held on 1st November 2007 at Jongleurs in north London.
