Would you like to win brand new LG Viewty or US$10,000? LG has launched a photo contest called “Viewtyful World” to promote as the name suggests Viewty handset.

Contest will run from 10th April till 11th June 2008, each week there will be 3 weekly winners, who will recieve LG Viewty handset and final winner will recieve US$10,000 from LG and winning picture will be featured in a Viewty advertorial in National Geographic magazine.All you need to do is to register and submit photo that you have taken (174×254 mm 150dpi) on contest website: http://www.viewtyfulworld.com

Photo must relate to one of the themes set by LG: “Night View”, “Retouch” or “Moments”.

Site also has download section, where you can download 4-in-1 widget for your Viewty handset, which includes Yahoo! Weather, Digital Clock, Day Planner and a game Stack’EM.

Following LG Chocolate and LG Shine, LG will announce a third handset in series on 24th April. Handset will be announced in Europe first and then roll out to the rest of the world.

New handset is a slider, as LG press release says “boasting its smart technology with the latest and sophisticated features including the slimmest 5MP camera”.

This addition to LG’s fashion line will contain materials such as carbon fiber and tempered glass.

Product name will be revealed during product launch.

Following Nokia’s announcement last year about launching unlimited music service to all Nokia owners: “Comes With Music”, LG has announced that it will launch it’s own music library called “MusicStation Max”.

LG has teamed up with Omnifone, UK based company that provides this service in 40 countries worldwide. In UK, Vodafone already uses their services.

According to Financial Times, users who buy LG handset will be able to access more than 1.5 million tracks and download them to their handset.

LG promised to make this service available before June 2008, which is ahead of Nokia’s announced music service. It is interesting to see how mobile phone manufacturers are now aggressively trying to enter music market, trying to compete with other electronic music retailers such as Apple’s Itunes. Currently Omnifone has agreement with Universal Music Group to provide music, but will try to sign up other labels as well.

Tracks are delivered in Enhanced Advanced Audio Coding format (eAAC+) over 2.5 or 3G networks.

Today LG Electronics announced new slim slider phone: LG-KF510. According to press release phone is just over 1cm thick (10.9mm), includes 3MP camera and MP3 player.

Phone will be on display at Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona, Spain on February 11 - 14, 2008. Phone will be available starting from March 2008.

This fashion phone will be available in Stardust Gray and Sunset Red metal gradation paint schemes.

Samsung unveiled it’s new touch phone - SGH-F490 on Consumer Electronics Show 2008 in Las Vegas. With growing popularity of touch phones, Samsung has entered market with this model, which is very similar to LG’s KU990 Viewty model.

LG Viewty is already available in UK and Samsung is planning to launch SGH-F490 in Europe end of January retailing at 530 euros (approx. £400).
