HTC Working On Android Phone - Dream

March 20th, 2008 admin Posted in News No Comments »

Taiwan based phone manufacturer HTC (High Tech Computer Corporation) is developing a phone which will run on Google’s Android platform. Phone is named “Dream”, according to report on InfoWorld.

HTC is known for it’s mobile devices running on Windows Mobile platform, so it will be interesting to see fresh alternative. It supplies phones and other mobile devices to UK network operators and recently started selling devices under it’s own brand.

Insider claims that HTC may be the first company to produce phone that runs on Android and may be available end of this year. Other manufacturers like Samsung are also in the race to deliver Android driven phone to market.

HTC’s handset apparantly will be over 5-inches long and 3-inches wide, with a keypad underneath the screen that either slides out or swivels out, probably something like Kaiser (Also known as: Mda Vario III, HTC TyTN II or AT&T Tilt)?

I guess HTC is creating a buzz now for this upcoming device, we all just have to wait and see what is coming our way!

Mobile Internet Usage Increases

March 19th, 2008 admin Posted in News 1 Comment »

Google Inc reported that they see sharp increase in Internet usage using mobile phones according to Reuters report. More people use Google search engine from their mobile phones, Google have created specialized search page optimized for mobile devices: www.google.co.uk/m.

You can use various Google services for mobile devices like Google Maps, Google Mail, Calendar, Picasa and others. I personally use Google Maps, which I think is brilliant and Google Mail.

Every network operator in UK now offers flat Internet packages, so if you need to be connected on the move, it will not cost you a fortune like before. Fast connectivity, better devices and better browsers for mobile devices are driving people to use mobile Internet services.

I use MDA Touch Plus (T-Mobile branded HTC Touch Dual) with T-mobile’s Web’n'Walk package touch_plusl.jpgwhich gives me unlimited (fair usage policy applies) surfing on a device for £7.50 a month. Touch Plus is HSDPA enabled phone and web surfing is really fast. I have also installed Opera Mobile, which is brilliant, Internet Explorer browser which comes as default is no comparison to it. I have set up my Gmail account as well, so I have access to my emails all the time.

Do you use Internet on your mobile device? What apps you have installed? Are you hapy with the service? Let us know!
